Tourism

Characteristics of the study programme

Standard length of study 6 semesters, graduation with a Bachelor's degree.

Supervisor of the study programme: prof. PhDr. Petr Chalupa, CSc.

The basic aim of the study is to provide students with a practically oriented bachelor's degree in economics, applicable in various areas of tourism and other activities. The main emphasis is on the practical applicability of the acquired knowledge. The focus of the study is based on the necessary theoretical foundations and is complemented by practical experience by completing professional practice. A wide range of elective courses allows specialization in particular areas of tourism (travel agencies, hotels, information centres, state administration, regional authorities) and increases the chances of further study or enables the graduate to be successfully placed in practice. This offer is influenced by certain trends of the near future based on the regional division of the country, e.g. the emphasis on the development of regions in the transformation of public administration and the expansion of contacts between regions within a united Europe. The Tourism study programme will enable graduates to enter practice in these promising areas. The aim of the study is to enable students to acquire the professional knowledge and skills needed to deal with specialised tasks in practice. Graduates of the programme will find employment in all tourism workplaces or have the opportunity to continue their studies in further Master's programmes.
