The purpose of the research is to establish a profile of the visitor to Jihlava. The research is a content and methodological continuation of the visitor research of Jihlava 2014 - 2015, which was carried out by the Department of Tourism of the University of Applied Sciences as part of the research among visitors to the Vysočina Region.

The study describes and evaluates the potential for tourism development in the territory of the Vysočina Region with a link to the single-track narrow gauge railway line No. 228 Jindřichův Hradec - Obrataň.

From the outputs of the marketing research of the visitor of the Vysočina Region 2019 - 2020, the data concerning domestic tourists, i.e. visitors from the Czech Republic who stay overnight at least once, were selected and processed.

Marketing research among visitors to the Vysočina Region carried out over 12 consecutive months from October 2019 to September 2020 in 25 locations in the region, statistical evaluation of the results, analysis and preparation of the final report. The research is a content and methodological continuation of the visitor research of the Vysočina Region 2014 - 2015, which was carried out by the Department of Tourism of the University of Applied Sciences and Technology.

Since 2017, the Department of Tourism has been providing the portal with data related to the survey of barrier-free attractions and tourism facilities in the Czech Republic. The data is entered into an online map and is therefore usable by people with disabilities.
In 2016, the Department of Tourism of the University of Applied Sciences and Technology of Jihlava prepared, at the request of the Statutory City of Jihlava, documents for the development of the Strategy for Culture, Leisure and Tourism in Jihlava. The task of the department's team was to provide the part of the strategy that will be related to tourism. Research and evaluation of the opinions of visitors and residents of the city on tourism was carried out, as well as an analysis of the potential of tourism in Jihlava.

In 2014, a team of experts from the Department of Tourism of the Vysočina Region prepared an analysis of tourism potential in the Vysočina Region, which is the basis for the development of a strategy for tourism development in the region.

Marketing research among visitors to Vysočina Region conducted over 12 consecutive months in 32 locations in the region. The results of the research became the basis for the creation of a tourism development strategy in Vysočina Region. In 2012 and 2013, the Department of Tourism of the University of Applied Sciences and Technology conducted a tourism marketing survey and its evaluation for the town of Telč. On September 10, 2012, the Department of Tourism of the University of Applied Sciences and Technology organized a discussion seminar on "Current Issues of Guide Activity in Tourism in the Czech Republic".
The discussion was attended by guests from the Chamber of Deputies and the Senate of the Parliament of the Czech Republic, representatives of the Association of Czech Travel Agencies and Agencies, the Association of Travel Agencies of the Czech Republic, the Association of Guides of the Czech Republic, the Association of Guides, the Ministry of Regional Development, the Ministry of Industry and Trade, as well as representatives of academia.
The tourism marketing study maps the level of tourism in the region, assesses the potential for its further development and proposes measures for the growth of tourism in this micro-region. The study was commissioned by the Velké Dářko Subregion - a voluntary association of municipalities based in Škrdlovice.
