Study stays

Students of the Tourism programme are obliged to undergo internships in companies and also field teaching practice as part of their studies. In addition to professional knowledge, they deepen their organisational and guiding skills and test their language skills. Their trips are mainly to European countries.

Among the students there are many who show a deeper interest in learning about attractive destinations. Tourism students participate in study visits and internships within the ERASMUS programme.

For the really enthusiastic applicants, the Department of Tourism of the University of Applied Sciences and Technology started a few years ago the possibility of a voluntary internship educational excursion in Cuba. This event was first held in late 2010 and met with great success among the participating students. Another five-week expedition to Cuba was undertaken by Tourism students in January/February in 2010, 2013, 2015, 2017 and 2020.

A pilot field educational excursion to Mexico was implemented in 2022.
