Seminars and lectures

Lectures of experts from practice are included in the teaching of professional subjects, such as Destination Management, Planning and Regional Development of Tourism, Marketing, Methodology of Guide Activity, Basics of Tourism, Cultural Heritage, Municipal and Regional Policy in Tourism, etc.

The teaching is also supplemented by special seminars or lectures by practitioners, which are organized according to the current situation in the field, suitable offer of partners, interest of students, etc. For example, the Department of Tourism has implemented:

700th anniversary of the beginning of the construction of the Old Mountain Mining Embankment

.

The year 2015 marked the 700th anniversary of the issuance of the charter of the Czech King John of Luxembourg, in which he confirmed with his signature and seal the contract for the artificial drainage of the mines for the extraction of silver ores near Jihlava. Traces of the mining embankment are still visible in the landscape today.

On the occasion of World Tourism Day, the Department of Tourism organized a lecture by Assoc. RNDr. Zdeněk Laštovička, CSc. about this unique technical monument associated with silver mining in the Jihlava region.
The lecture was held on October 1, 2015.

"There are many extraordinary things and stories all around, you just have to look carefully. How do we tell others about them so that they enjoy it?" This is the common idea of the three blocks of the seminar.

For completing all three courses, participants will receive a certificate issued by the Association for the Interpretation of Local Heritage of the Czech Republic.
